Today I am sharing with you my homemade BBQ sauce. I have been working on this for quite a while. Adding and taking away ingredients. I think I finally have it down. At least my family gives it the thumbs up!

Because of my hubby’s transplant he has to watch his salt intake. Condiments can contain so much of it, I had to come up with my own version. He wanted something slightly sweet and tangy. Start with some olive oil in a pan heat it up and add a half of an onion diced fine. cook for five minutes and then add two cloves of garlic, minced.

Let this cook for ten minutes and then add in your other ingredients. It is that simple. Now just let it cook on low heat for a half an hour to an hour. The longer it simmers the darker and thicker it gets. It is up to you how you like it. I have done both and it tastes wonderful either way.

I use it on chicken or pork and the kids eat it as dipping sauce too. I won’t even tell you some of them like it in their mac and cheese.
Recipe:
1/2 large onion
2 cloves garlic
1/8 to 1/4 c brown sugar
1 c Ketchup
2 T Soy Sauce
1 t Worchester Sauce
Olive oil
1 T Butter
Add in the brown sugar slowly until it reaches the sweetness that pleases you.. This recipe can be doubled also.
Enjoy and God Bless!
